Two great days of State Championship BBQ and Racing in Wheatland, MO!
WHEATLAND, Missouri - From the venue to high-level barbecue competition, the Inaugural Red White Blue & Que Presented by Lucas Oil Speedway was a rousing success as 31 teams converged on the south-central motorsports complex.
Thump and Strum BBQ out of Kansas City took home Grand Championship honors with Gettin' Basted of Branson, Mo., earning Reserve Grand. Category winners included Eli's Pit Crew (Chicken), Boxer Q BBQ (Ribs), Blown Away BBQ (Pork) and In Deep Sauce (Brisket). Tebo Creek BBQ captured the Anything Goes category with their smoked shrimp.
Teams also cooked for the fans on Saturday and took in the a night at the races. Yellowjacket BBQ won People's Choice honors. Proceeds from the event went to TheWarriorsJourney.org and Korean War Veterans of the Ozarks.
